Un Sub-IB es un introducing broker reclutado por otro IB (el master IB) y no por el broker, en una estructura multinivel donde las comisiones bajan en cascada.

Un Sub-IB (Sub-Introducing Broker) es un partner incorporado a un programa de brokerage por un introducing broker existente, no por el propio broker. El concepto es el equivalente específico de Forex de un sub-afiliado en el marketing de afiliados general. En las redes de IB multinivel, el Sub-IB refiere clientes al broker, pero su relación y su flujo de comisión se gestionan a través del IB que lo reclutó.

Desde la perspectiva del broker, los Sub-IB amplían la red de partners sin captación directa adicional. Desde la perspectiva del master IB, los Sub-IB generan comisiones descendentes, normalmente una parte de las ganancias del Sub-IB o un override separado sobre el volumen referido por el Sub-IB.

El reto de las estructuras de Sub-IB es la atribución y la transparencia. Cada nivel necesita visibilidad clara de las ganancias, los clientes referidos y la lógica de comisión. Sin las herramientas adecuadas, son comunes las disputas y la confusión en torno a los repartos de pago. En España, la CNMV supervisa la comercialización de servicios de inversión, lo que exige a los brokers regulados claridad contractual en estas cadenas de comisión.
