Un Master IB (Master Introducing Broker, ou Courtier Introducteur Principal) est un courtier introducteur qui recrute et gère un réseau de Sub-IBs. Un Master IB (Master Introducing Broker) occupe le sommet d'un réseau multi-niveaux de courtiers introducteurs. Plutôt que de se limiter à apporter des traders directement à un broker, le Master IB recrute d'autres IBs -- appelés Sub-IBs -- qui réfèrent à leur tour des traders. Cette structure crée une hiérarchie de partenaires où les commissions remontent à chaque niveau.
Le Master IB génère ses revenus de deux façons: des commissions sur les transactions des clients qu'il apporte directement, et des commissions d'override sur l'activité produite par son réseau de Sub-IBs.
