Traffic Quality Score

A traffic quality score is a composite metric that evaluates the quality of traffic an affiliate sends, factoring in conversion rates, fraud signals, user behavior, and downstream value to score partner performance.

What it means in practice

A traffic quality score combines multiple data points into a single metric that reflects how valuable an affiliate's traffic actually is. Inputs typically include conversion rate, bounce rate, time-on-site, fraud flags (such as bot patterns or geographic mismatches), downstream user behavior (deposits, trading activity, retention), and long-term value indicators like LTV or repeat purchases. The score gives operators a fast way to assess partner quality without manually reviewing every data point.

Operators use traffic quality scores to tier their affiliate base, adjust commission structures, and flag potential issues before they become costly. High-scoring affiliates may receive higher commission rates, priority support, or access to exclusive offers. Low-scoring affiliates may be placed on probation, have commissions held for review, or be removed from the program. The score turns qualitative judgments about partner quality into a structured, data-driven framework.

For program health, traffic quality scoring is essential. Without it, operators rely on volume metrics alone -- clicks, registrations, FTDs -- which tell you how much traffic an affiliate sends but not whether that traffic has real value. A high-volume affiliate with poor quality traffic can cost more in fraud, chargebacks, and support overhead than they generate in revenue. Scoring shifts the focus from quantity to quality and helps operators allocate budget to the partners who actually drive profitable growth.

iGaming

Traffic Quality Score in iGaming affiliate programs

In iGaming, traffic quality scoring weighs player value metrics like deposit frequency, wagering activity, game preferences, and bonus-to-deposit ratio. Affiliates who consistently send players with high lifetime value and low bonus dependency score higher. Operators also factor in chargeback rates and self-exclusion triggers as negative signals.

Forex

Traffic Quality Score in Forex partner and IB models

Forex brokers score IB traffic based on deposit quality, account funding speed, trading activity (lots traded per month), and account longevity. An IB whose referred traders fund quickly and remain active scores higher than one whose referrals deposit the minimum and go dormant. Withdrawal-to-deposit ratios and regulatory complaint rates are common negative factors.

Prop Trading

Traffic Quality Score in prop trading acquisition flows

In prop trading, traffic quality is often measured by challenge completion rates, repeat purchase behavior, and chargeback frequency. Affiliates whose referrals complete challenges and purchase again score higher than those whose traffic has high refund or chargeback rates. Payment method risk can also factor into the score.

Common questions about traffic quality score, how it works in affiliate programs, and where it shows up across Track360's supported verticals.

A typical traffic quality score combines conversion rate, fraud indicators (bot traffic, geographic mismatches, click anomalies), user behavior metrics (bounce rate, time-on-site, engagement depth), and downstream value signals (deposit amount, trading activity, retention, LTV).
